Status: Throw your opponent at the turnbuckle and run to him. Hints: The safest way to deal with a "run-in" wrestler? Climb to the top rope and wait him out. If you remain aloft for a couple of minutes, he'll either become bored and leave the premises, or engage in just a short burst of fisticuffs before exiting. Either way, you're better off. Of course, there's always the possibility that a run-in may be your ally. In this case, you'd better not hit him or he'll switch allegiances faster than you can say "scorpion death lock." Simple elbow drops applied to a prone opponent can really get the momentum meter moving; this is also an effective way to build to a finisher. Remember, though, that you can only use this maneuver twice before he'll "wise up" and get back to his feet, leaving you idiotically elbow dropping on a bare mat. Submission holds and pin attempts are effective only with a near-full or completely filled meter, and won't in themselves pump up the crowd. In other words, don't even waste your time on a finisher until you have that meter cooking. Bash your opponent with a weapon more than three times and he'll always turn the table on you, rising and smacking you down in a matter of seconds. |
